white becomes gray...

Post by GoDrakkarGo »

Hi! I'm new here.

I'm trying to do an animated gif but here's my problem:

My background on every frames is white [255-255-255] but in the "preview" and/or in a "gif" or "swf" it appears gray.

Why?!

Thanks!

You might have a problem with your videocard, try updating your videocard. Or maybe, you need to have the latest DirectX version. Also, consider reinstalling your program as components have been corrupted. Hope this helps. :D

There are a few issues here. I'm not too firm on them either.
1. pure white is outside the video standard, as is pure black.
2. your display may need calibration
3. gif has a limited max color depth, depending on settings when you save it. It may be as low as 16 colors

How many colors are you optimizing with? 256? 128? Less?

You can edit the palette to make that grey white... Click the palette icon in the Optimize section of the workspace. That may be the trouble.
