During ULead Video Capture AND when viewing finished AVI file and edited movies, a couple of lines at the top of the image are flickering. That is not the case when connecting the recorder directly to a TV.
Camera is a Sony TRV330E DV.
The camera is visible in "My computer" (Win XP) and when playing a tape upon opening the camera, the same flickering is visible.
Anyone any idea if this be overcome?

This kind of thing happens with some rigs, whether at the top or bottom of the screen. Although the image is 576 lines high, the total number of lines is 625 (PAL: NTSC = 480 and 525 respectively). The other lines are used for field synch, teletext and a host of other functions. Occasionally, the "hidden" lines can "leak" over into the image area. This is not serious because all TV sets have "overscan", which masks the extremes of all 4 sides, so that you would never see the problem.
I don't know whether your cam has an internal adjustment to correct the position of the image: consult your vendor, if you wish, but you will never see the problem on a TV.

Flickering top lines in Video Capture may remain visible

Many thanks but that will not remove the flickering when I use special effects like (most common exemple) PIP. In that case the lines will fall inside the visible area.
Believe that sjj1805's reply may do the trick in that case as one can crop any image, even those with other special effects. Will give it a try.

I agree that PinP would require cropping. However, I recommend that you deinterlace to clips to insert and this alone may reduce the problem (depends on how many lines are involved. However, my guess is that your cam needs adjusting. I have 2 DV sources here and neither displays this problem with MSP, so tackling the source of the problem seems wiser than trying work-arounds, such as cropping.
