No audio on playback

Post by oceanreign »

Ok, so my previous problem is solved as I went out and bought a new computer today. Yeah me! But, now I have succesfully captured several minutes of video. While in capture mode, the previewing video that I was capturing had sound. Once I rewatched it (already captured) there is no audio. HELP!

I am using Ulead VideoStudio 7 SE basic

Thanks so much!

Hi Oceanreign :)

First of all we need to know more information. How are you capturing the video, USB, Firewire, composite RCA through your video card?

Most particularly, if you captured from a source (e.g. a commercial DVD) which uses Dolby AC-3 audio, you need to know that VS 7 cannot handle it. VS 8 could with an additional plug-in you had to buy. But VS 9 actually includes that plug-in.

Ok. I have a USB video grabber or a dazzle DVC80 (which I refuse to use anymore, it is not a good product at all). I am connecting the red, yellow and white cords or have the option of the S-video cable. There is additionally, a plug into the microphone jack on my computer (yes, it is correctly plugged in, as I would not be able to hear the audio in preview mode if it were not).

I am running a 3400 Athlon 64 processor, and have all the memory stuff that I need. I have no idea what my sound card is. . .but I would be happy to find that out if somebody can tell me how. . .

Thanks
