Level of customization for Menus in MovieFactory 4

Post by patrickgamer »

I'm trying to finish my first DVD in MF4, but I'm stuck...

I only want the thumbnails in the menues. No titles, no thumbnail text. I can't find a way to delete these text fields...

Now, I know I can just edit each field to be blank, but I'm expecting to use this menu format fequently, and I'd prefer not to have to manually do this.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Thanks!

I don't think you can do this in Moviefactory - but there are some templates that do not have text fields. You can suppress the tumbnail number.

I have the extra content templates installed - so I'm not sure if these templates are standard or from the extra content

Is there a way to edit the menus outside of MF4 and just import them?

I'm new to the Ulead scene, I just bout Movie Factory 4 Disc Creator. Is there a way to delete the THUMBNAILs and just use the Text as buttons on the menus? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

all of the menu templates in MF4 are editiable in PhotoImpact (ufo). However, some objects in the UFO file have special commands for DVD and deleting it may affect your DVD menu on disc (it may not link at all).

The only way to create DVD menus in MF4 without text is to manually delete them.

Or... you may use DVD WorkShop 2 for this. it offers far more flexibility than MovieFactory.

grrrr... it never ends.

I have MF2 and I'm told that i need MF4. So I get MF4, and now I find I need WS2...

Am I giong to have to buy everying from this darn site just to get a simple project done right?

When you say that there may be information linked to menu components, are you saying that if I cut out the text, while leaving the thumbnails intact, that I may still end up ruining the menu system?

you can replace the thumbnail text (initially file name) and use a single space IIRC
the page title (My Title initially) is not displayed if you leave it untouched
check the resultas in the preview

What the post referred to is maybe that the next/previous, play all and home buttons better be left untouched in the menu ufo file (except placement of course), at least tha's what I understand...
