DMF3 burning problems, need help

Post by wetcamelfood »

Hi, I was hoping someone here could help me with a DMF related issue.

I have DMF 3 & have made a few DVD’s now with no complaints. :)

Then, a friend gave me some PAL DVD’s which I converted to NTSC mpeg files via
DVD Decrypter & VideoReDo. I saved the mpeg’s in a folder on my HD.

Then, I went to DMF3 & “Create(d a) video disc”. It was 50 minutes in length and came
out great.

So I went to do another one, which was only about 15 minutes long (I was planning on
putting all these little pieces on one disc but wanted to test small clips on some +&-RW’s
first). Anyways, I went through the whole process I did for the longer disc, and then when
I went to try and burn the disc, I got error messages saying there wouldn't be enough
space on the discs (even though the videos were shorter & the discs were blank) so it
didn't burn them.

Now, I've had this problem with ULead before and usually when I reboot, it then burns
fine, so I tried that here (many times, not just once) and it goes through the multiplexing,
finalizing VOB etc. process and when it's about to burn to the disc, I get these 2 messages:

The target device might have some problems. Try again or reboot (5213) (which I could
only click "OK" to, then another one appears after doing so...)

Failed to record data to the disc Error DVD+ 14252:1:0

I have an all format (tried this with - media as well) Cyberhome burner drive I just got a
few months ago at Best Buy so I hope that's not the problem.

I played some DVD's on the Cyberhome drive after the problem and they played
fine (so hopefully that's a good sign that the drive isn't the problem).

However, after I tried the burning & it didn't work & I could only get the DVD's I tried to
burn on out of the drive when rebooting.

In case anyone wants to ask if I have any other software on my PC that might have some
clashing problems with what I’m using: I have an HP tower that originally only came with
a DVD view-able, CD playable & recordable drive), so I had someone install the
Cyberhome drive in the HP tower’s expansion bay. The Cyberhome came with Nero
software but I removed it from my HD when I realized I was getting better results with
the ULead etc. I think there’s still the HP RecordNow software on the tower (but I’m
assuming it only has the capabilities of burning CD’s since the tower didn’t come with a
DVD BURNING drive huh?). I do use MusicMatch Jukebox for my CD (audio) burning,
but let me know if you think I should remove any of this in case you think that’s what’s
causing the problems (though it shouldn’t be since this was on there when I was doing
DVD’s via ULead before with no problem). I hope I can keep the MMJ on at least since I
still do burn CD’s (but I want my videos to be on DVD’s instead of VCD’s, in case
anyone was going to suggest iIdo that instead :) ). I also added 20 gigs of memory to the
tower so that shouldn’t be it either.

I corresponded about this with the ULead expert at the VideoReDo board & he suggested
I try here.

So I hope someone here can tell me what I need to do to fix the problem so I can continue
making DVD’s through my set up.

Thanks in advance as I don’t know where else to try on this (so if you don’t have any
advice for me on this then any ideas as to who you think I should contact about this would
be a great help as well). Looking forward to your suggestions. :)

John
