I installed the UVS9 and the HD plugin. I followed the tutorial and troubleshooting procedures but I am unable to capture from my Sony HC1. I can capture from it with Media Studio Pro 7 with its HD plugin.
Device manager shows the camera detected as AV/C tape device. Video Studio shows the correct device control being detected HDV 1394 Device Control. Video Studio does put the camera into pause mode. The display on the camera says HDVout I-link. The capture plug in documented in the tutorial is not one of the options when I go into Tools - Change Capture Plug-In. The tutorial says to select Ulead HDV Capture Plug-in. That is not one of the options. The optioins I have are "Ulead DirectShow Capture Plug-in, Ulead DSW MPEG Capture Plug-in, Adaptec AHA-894x DV Plug-in, Micromv MPEG Capture Plug-in, Windows Media Format Capture Plug-in, and Ulead MPEG4 Capture Plug-in. I have tried selecting each of them, but none of them works. When I select the Adaptec or MicroMV plugins, the rest of the buttons (options, capture video, and capture image) are grayed out. When I select any of the other plug-ins I get a dialog box with the message "Unable to switch to capture mode. Check to see if your video capture driver is working properly. Failed to build preview graph."
Does anyone know what might be going wrong?

Cannot capture HD from Sony HC1

I have the same problem with my VS9. I found out if you have more than one plugin installed in VS9 and install the HD plugin the HD plugin will not work.
What you have to do is un-install VS9 and the patches and install only the HD plugin. I see you have an Adaptec plugin, if you install that plugin it will disable the HD plugin.
I use to have the Hauppauge PVR250 plugin installed and when I installed the HD plugin it disable both, I reinstalled the PVR250 plugin and was able to use it. I then reinstalled the HD plugin and got the same result, couldn't use either one.
There is a bug in the plugin installs and I don't know if Ulead will fix it.
