Playing a burned DVD

Post by cory43 »

I have VS 9, I'm still learning alot, but have the basics down, but I have problem watching the burned DCD's on my computer, but they work great on my home DVD player, what gives, When I try and play them on the computer with either reallayer or windows media they start out fine for about 1 sec and then it gets all digitized and jumbles up, you can still make the pictuer out a little and it plays at normal speed and all, but you can't really watch it. ANy body have any ideas Thanks

Windows Media and Realplayer are not DVD players. You need to get a DVD player like Win DVD.

I also tried NVDVD, with no luck.

Are you able to watch normal DVDs on the computer? If so, are you trying to play the burned DVDs the same way?

If there is no DVD decoder on the computer, the DVD won't play at all, so that's not the problem.

More likely it is a problem with the video drivers or a codec conflict. I would get the latest WHQL-certified drivers for the video card, check Windows Update for any DirectX updates, and uninstall any codec packs that might be on the system.
