No input signal or signal is unclear
Can anyone tell me what 'No input signal or signal is unclear' means and how I can fix it? I was capturing just find from my Sony DCR-HC42 digital camcorder until my husband borrowed the camera. Could he have changed a setting and now Video Studio 9 can't recognize the comcorder? There is a sound coming from the camcorder when I click 'Capture Video'. The 'No input signal ...' information line is under the blue header 'Ulead DSW MPEG Capture Plug-in'. I'm a Newbie to video editing. Thanks.

I can't think of any setting on the camera which your husband might have changed, which would have changed things with Video Studio. But I am intrigued by the fact that Video Studio was trying to capture using the mpeg plug-in. Have you tried setting the Capture format to DV and making sure that the capture plug-in is the Ulead DirectShow Capture Plug-in (Tools > Change Capture Plug-in).
I also note that your camera definitely has an i-Link (Firewire) port, so can you confirm that you are trying to capture via that and not via the camera's USB connection (which is only for lower quality streaming video and still photos).
