MSP8 Audio Filter Error

MSP8 Audio Filter Error

Post by jangardiner »

I just installed MSP8 and generally like it very much, although I'm sure I haven't mastered all the new features yet. However, I do have a problem with audio filters. That's the good news. :)

When I drag any of the provided audio filters to the audio portion of a video clip, I get the error "Video editor cannot recognize this filter." Generally thereafter, MSP hangs and dies. This last time, it even corrupted the project file. :(

Any ideas? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I can't be categorical, but I suggest the first place to look would be to find conflicting audio filters from another application. I believe some of these may upset DX.

I have the same problem but only after loading a Direct X audio plug-in. After a system restore in XP, I can get back to the original MSP 8 condition with no plug-ins. MSP 7 works with these plug-ins on the same PC.

MSP 8 does not seem to work with Direct X plug-ins.

Try a system restore at least you might get MSP 8 back to a working condition again.

Does this make sense given that MSP8 was the last thing I installed? I have not knowingly installed anything else recently.

Thanks again.

Did you notice the problem the first time you tried to use the audio filters? If yes, then MSP 8 will be using the Direct X plug-ins already installed on your PC. In which case the plug-ins do not work. Do you have MSP 7.3 installed on the same PC? If you have, try it to see if it works OK.

Works fine in 7.3.

We have found another bug, I now have an expanding list which I am documenting.

I also have VideoStudio on the same system. After installing the latest service pack for VideoStudio, there were problems with MSP8 audio filters, but a repair re-install fixed those.

I have the same problem with audio filters (Cannot recognize this filter) I made a new installation and audio filters was OK, but today I did nothing but internet new-groups on my pc and than I came back to use MSP8 and now I have the problem again. I dont understand.
In MSP7 every thing is ok with audio filter.
(I have the magix mp3-konverter, but the last use is a long time ago)

Reinstalling MSP8 and related content seemed to solve my problem (for now). I'll just keep my fingers crossed that the audio filters don't "go missing" again.

Thanks, everyone.

After you un-install MSP8 delete its folder in Program Files if it still exists.

Also go into "C:/Documents and Settings/username/Applicaiton Data/Ulead Systems" and delete the "/MediaStudio Pro/8.0" folders.

This will delete all copies of the files that load filters into the Production Library, giving you a real new start.

I think maybe it is a problem with installing msp7 and msp8
I de-installed and installed msp8 and the filters are ok
I worked sometimes with msp8 and the audiofilters are ok
than I started msp7 and worked in msp7 and ended msp7
now start msp8 and audiofilters has the problem
Have you also installed msp7 and 8 or has someone this problem and no other/older Ulead-software-versions installed?

another question too:
in msp7 their is an audiofilter for changing loudness via % (not db) but in trial and preview of msp8 I cannt find it. Is it not in msp8?

There is a filter to adjust the volume in MSP 8 and it works OK

Had multiple error's on first startup which then dissappeared and after that I had the same problem. Reinstall did fix the problem, I had some DirectX Filters that seem to messed something up. I removed the filter as well, no more error since then.

Got the same error. Reinstalling fixed the problem. Just hope its stable now. In my humble opinion, this is a severe error which should be fixed in an express. Guess most of you agree.

Thanks to you guys. The above information saved me many hours in full grief.
