First of all - here is the config I have
Celeron - 1.7, RAM 512 DIM, HD - 40 (7200), video on board
Firewire card (http://www.innodv.com/products/dv1000.html)
SONY HC30E
Win XP Pro (no SP1 or SP2)
Video Studio 9.0 Trial (the same problem on VS 8.0 as well)
Klcodec250f codecs pack
(http://www.proarena.com/p/ftpx/f8497/to ... 0f.exe.htm)
I capture DV Type - 2 with sound preview turned off and the problem is I have a choppy sound at recorded file.
Here is what I've done so far:
1. Reset the firewire card (virtually removed her from the slot, turned on the PC let XP update the config and then turned PC off, put the card back and turned on again) There is no problem with firewire card driver.
2. Tried to capture with audio preview disable
3. Changed Audio type from PCM to DV Audio PAL
4. Tried to capture with the adapter unplugged (using the cam battaries only in case if power fluctuations may influence at some way)
5. Tried to capture via USB 2.0 with no problems with sound at all.
I haven't changed the PC config much recently except I bought Ipod mini so I installed ITunes.
Please don't tell me that I need to reinstall XP as God knows what's going on with the drives:-))) I know I will if nothing esle won't help...
Problem with sound

Have you tried removing those codecs? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q142731/Klcodec250f codecs pack
(http://www.proarena.com/p/ftpx/f8497/to ... 0f.exe.htm)
If it doesn't work you can always put them back in again. Most problems are solved by a process of elimination.
