S-VHS capturing with Terratec Cameo Grabster 200 fails

Post by HAVER »

Some time ago I purchased the Terratec Cameo Grabster 200; included in the package were Ulead Video Studio 7 and Ulead DVD Movie Factory 2SE.
The Grabster should provide the possibility to capture in either S-VHS or in composite mode. In the meantime I upgraded both packages to Video Studio 8 and Movie Factory 4.
Capturing in composite mode causes no problems at all: Video Studio recognises the Grabster and captures right away.
However, I failed to do the same with an S-VHS cable between the TV and the Grabster: Video Studio recives audio (no change in the connection compared to composite) but no video;
When I go to the "capture" screen, the Grabster is recognised under "source", however, when I go to "options" - "video and audio capture property settings' - "source" the fields "input source" and "tv system" are blank. I am using a Pentium 4, 3.06 GHz with 1 GB RAM with WINXPPro SP2.
Just to make sure that the S-VHS output from my TV works, I connected it to the computer with an S-VHS cable via the "Dazzle digital video creator 150" and used Pinnacle Studio 9 for capturing: no problem (besides the usual Pinnacle-problems) at all.
Anyone who could advise me ??
