how to resize an image and still have good quality of pixels

Post by rapido78840 »

First: apologizme my english... I hope any can undertand my question...
I take digital pictures from a camera kodak Z740 ( 5 megapixels) all the images its very good. but when I work with this images in Photo Impact 10 and try to resize then try to print, the images its very blurr ( I dont know if this word its the correct word) because I just only see like a colours pixels on photo.

a).-my original image its this:

Code: Select all

image Properties

Data type: RGB true Color ( 24-bit)
Width: 2576 Pixels Res: 72 Pixels/Inch
Height: 1932 Pixels Size: 14,581 KB

name:
Format JPEG file Interchange Format
Size: 817 KB
THEN, when I try to resize down for example on this amounts using the menu "Adjust" - "Resize"

Code: Select all

Image Properties

Data type: RGB true Color ( 24-bit)
Width: 70 Pixels Res: 72 Pixels/Inch
Height: 53 Pixels Size: 11,130 KB

name:
Format JPEG file Interchange Format
Size: 817 KB
what I need to resize down ? because I need to join some pictures in one and for this reazon I try to resize ( for example 6 diferents pictures with the same properties 2576 x 1932 pixels ) to join in one picture (witdth and Height 2576 x 1932 pixels), how if this one picture was take it originaly from my digital camera.

can any body please tellme how to do this , and have a good quality picture when I send to my printer ?

because if I sent just only the original picture take it from my digital camera to the printer , all the picture its very good, but if I resize down this same picture when I print it the picture its very pixelate ( I dont know the right word but for me its very bad picture )

thanks

Not sure if I understand your question right.

What is the paper size you want to print to?

If you resize the image like shown in your examples, PI, like any other imaging software, will compress the original number of pixels to the new value. In other words, all the picture information contained in 2576 pixels width is compressed to 70 pixels. How you expect to get any detail from this is beyond me. I suggest you get some basic training in digital imagery, in your native language, befor you try any more. It is a very complex subject.

why ? its simple, work with a 6 images with this measures:

Code: Select all

image Properties

Data type: RGB true Color ( 24-bit)
Width: 2576 Pixels Res: 72 Pixels/Inch
Height: 1932 Pixels Size: 14,581 KB

name:
Format JPEG file Interchange Format
Size: 817 KB
then join all the 6 images to keep fit in the same measure ( 2576 x 1932 ) then print in 8 x 10, how as the new image is seen ?

Start with a new image in either Portrait or Landscape orientation and of a size to fit your 6 images (2 x 3 or 3 x 2 ) x the pixel size of your images.

Insert the images into this new image and arrange as wanted. Save the resultant image and print to 8 x 10 paper. No resizing is needed as the printing software is going to do the resizing for you. Make sure though, that the aspect ratio of your new image is the same as the paper, or some cropping will occur when printing.

The aspect ratio of your images is 4:3, the paper is 5:4, not the same. You will need to crop your original images or the resultant new image in PI or let the printer do it's job.
