PI 10 Still Slow! ???

I upgraded from v8 to v10+patch because they stated it was faster with larger image files. Ha! It's still horrible slow while working on my 45-60MB photo files. Tools like Hue & Saturation are dreadful, and most other color or denisty correction tools are slower than I expected from this new version. UGH!

My PC Specs:
3.2GHz P4 800 (HT enabled)
2.0GB PC2-4200 RAM
7200rpm SATA HDDs
ATI Radeon X300 128MB

Anyone have some tips to boost PI's performance? System preference tweaks? Win XP tweaks? THANKS!
