Problems Capturing in Videostudio 8 SE
When using VS8 to capture, everything works fine, it captures and makes the file that can be played back, however when trying to burn it to disk it will come up with 'Cannot Open file' and error out. It also occastionally goes to send error report to M$ and closes out.
If DVD Movie Factory 3 is used to capture, there isn't a problem with the video or burning.
Thanks for any help.

Not sure what you mean by properties, but yes as many of the options as I've been able to find and compare I'm using the same settings. Right now I'm testing it with an old VHS tape.
*edit* also does anyone know how to set a default plug-in? it reverts to blackbird on mine, and that plugin doesn't work on my system.

Hi
After you have captured your video, thumbnail clips are placed in the timeline, Right click one of these and select properties, what are they.
Once you have completed the editing you should go to Share Create Video File. Then use this file to burn a disc.
Follow the recomended procedure from the top post.

Hi
Your capture settings look good for a video up to one hour.
I assume you are capturing from an analogue source, you should use ‘upper field first’
How are you burning your disc, are you going straight to ‘share create disc’ or are you creating a video file first. From Share Create Video File.
Trevor
ps where are you in this world, are you Pal Or Ntsc.?
