When you install a software, the installer extracts temporary files needed for the installation on a temp folder. These folders are usually:
C:\Windows\Temp
C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Local Settings\Temp

If the temp folder holds old installer files that may be corrupted or are duplicates with the same filename but are used for a different software, it could cause a problem for your new installation of the software. Before you reinstall the software, make sure to clean the Temp folders.

The Local Settings folder is a hidden folder so you have to enable Windows Explorer to see hidden files and folders. Open Windows Explorer, go to Tools > Folder Options > View and check show hidden files and folders. You can now open the Temp folder from the Documents and Settings folder and delete the files there.

Then uninstall the software from Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs.

I am experiencing the same problem as davidhoran2003 and have carried out the solution as suggested by 2log with no success!

I have installed Photoimpact v10 on another PC in the office similar to my own and have successfully uninstalled it!

Has a solution been identified as yet?
