5 service packs after initial release, DWS 2.0 stil has a problem with menu durations.
If menu duration value contains not only seconds but frames, the frames part is truncated after the project is saved and opened again. I.e. 00:02:42.12 is truncated to 00:02:42.00.
Another situation when this happens is when selecting menu duration to match duration of background video or background music (dropdown button on the right of Menu Duration field -> Video Duration (max. 254) or Audio Duration (max. 254). Menu duration is set to duration of video (audio) truncated to seconds. I.e. if audio duration is 00:02:42.12 menu duration is set to 00:02:42.00. It is possible to add frames manually, but after the project is saved and opened again, the frames disappear.
This produces very annoying problems when creating looping menus. Are there any chances to see a fix for that?
Menu duration bug: frames truncated
It's the end frame, how can it be inside a GOP?
And there are no GOPs when using WAV audio.
BTW, when the frames are added manually and the disk is burned immediatelly, everything is OK, the frames remain, the menu loops properly.
After saving/closing/opening the project it is necessary to add the frames again, or the looping gets broken.

Does your wav file have the same sampling rate as your project?

I know this problem
You're right DVD workshop does truncate or remove the frames from the end of motion menus, though not the loop point strangely enough.
It is a bug and it happens whether you use audio or not. The only work-around I've found to be successful is to create motion menus that are an exact numer of seconds long. Of course as you say if you change the menu duration while the file is open and burn your project it does retain them.
Save and close, open again and the frames are gone, this is true whether using audio or not and is true whether you use AVI or Compliant MPEG.
