CG Infinity files and MSP8

Post by chtchege »

I've just got my full MSP8, so maybe there's no issue in the final product, but it is definitely an issue of MS8 Preview version:

As I understand, there is neither CG Infinity nor Video Paint in MSP8. Ok, yesterday I tried inserting version 7 Infinity files onto the Version 8 timeline - no way, the format is not recognised. Then I found out a phrase in the Online Help for MS8 Preview saying that "CG Infinity files are not supported in MSP8 standard version.
So, I'd like to know what version of MS8 I've just bought, since nowhere else have I seen any reference to a "standard" or "advanced" or other versions of Media Studio Pro, and whether I'll be able to use CG Infinity from Version 7 together with my MSP8.

I had the preview version but have now installed the "trial" version of 8. Did a quick CG Infinity file with some motion, text & graphics and it dropped into the time line with no problems so hopefully when you install your full product all will be ok...

I've run into the same issue - my existing V7 CG Infinity files won't load into MSP8 preview...

I haven't upgraded to V8 or not yet as I need to determine whether or not I can use my existing CG Infinity & Video Paint files/programs with the full MSP8. If I need to upgrade them, I'd like to take advantage of the special upgrade price (which I assume is only available when bundled with the MSP8 upgrade).

asande - you should uninstall the preview version and download the new trial version. The trial version has bugs removed since the preview version and it does allow CG(v7) files on the timeline.

And the trial version allows you another 30 days testing before you take the plunge!

IIRC MSP8 trial and release both include the necessary libraries for reading/executing Video Paint and CGI project files.
