I have a video with narration, and have tediously adjusted audio levels on the video clips, narration clips, and music track to get the effect I want. It is very impressive to see what can be done on a notebook while on a trip!
The Problem:
After I burn a successful DVD, and try to reload the same .VSP to do that one last tweak (of many "last tweaks"), I find that the audio levels set with the Clip Volume control on the Music and Voice panel have changed! Many, but not all, of the video clips are reset to 100, while some of my narration clips are set to zero! Perhaps my computer resents having to do my little compusive changes?
Please check my understanding: The rubberbanding (very frustrating but great) adjusts the profile of the audio changes during a clip, while the Clip Volume adjusts the absolute level of the clip. So if I set the rubber band to reduce background sound during a narration clip, then restore it, i can use the Clip Volume control to change the overall background level without having to tweak the rubber band (very tricky on a notebook touchpad). Right?
And the clip volume is not temporary; it should persist across editing an burning sessions, right?
Thanks in advance.
