If I create a DVD disk with one of the DVD recorders that are like the VCR's can I take the files it creates and edit them with VS? I don't seem to be able to find out what type of files these recorders put on the DVD disk. Is it a mpg or VOB or what?
Thanks!!

DVD recorders usually create DVD-VR or DVD+VR disks. DVD-VR is supported by Videostudio 8 and 9, but DVD+VR is not.
The other possibility is that the device creates standard DVDs on -/+R or -/+RW disks. These can also be imported.
The only other possible problem is the audio format. Videostudio 8 doesn't support AC-3 Dolby Digital audio without an addon; the non-SE versions of Videostudio 9 come with it.
