Move text object to the front

Post by MichaelLee »

Hi Everyone,
I'm a newbee with Cool3d Production Studio and I have created a little animation with 2 text objects along with a few other objects. I would like to make one of the text object start out front, and then fall behind the other objects and disapear. I did use the text effects to get me started, but right now the main text object starts in the middle of one of the cone objects so part of the text is not visiable. What properties can I use to bring this text object to the front. Thanks for any help.

P.S. Where can I find any good tuturials/article/books on this product. Besides the Ulead ones, I've been through thoughs. Even some sample projects to help me along. Thanks again.

Mike,
Granted you haven't changed your camera view, just select the text object and click on position button and change z value from 0 to - any number, this will bring the text towards you. Make sure you're on frame 1. As for disappearing the text at the end, Example: 10 frames from the last frame, key where you want your text to be before it disappears. Then on the next frame or ninth frame from the end click position and use the grabber tool and move the text object off the screen. Note the position and make sure to use the same values for the last frame. That's it.

For tutorials, there are not many. Your best bet is to play around and become familiar with the program and ask here.

You probably already know about Ulead's Cool 3d tutorials:

A commercial DVD training package for Cool 3D Production Studio at vasst.com ($79.00):

And a couple of misc. pieces of info I have saved over time:

Plus a commercial training cd set I own (old but the cool 3d stuff is pertinent, also covers cginfinity & video paint). Unfortunately they seem to be offline - don't know if the product is still available - try videoguys.com:
