Video input looks like a film negative

Post by Buckman »

I am trying to convert a video tape to DVD. Using Windows XP, a Belkin USB cable and Videostudio 6 (the last two came together in a package) There's really nothing to screw up. Plug one end of the cable into VCR ouput jacks, and the other into computer USB. However it doesn't quite work. I can see the video being input via the software, but it looks like a film neagtive. All green and red. Not the actual video colors. Has anyone else had that problem ? How to fix it ?

If you are using a S-Video cable, make sure there are no bent pins.

If you are using a Composite (RCA) cable, you may have a problem with your video driver or a codec.

The device did come with rca jacks, and you were correct THOFF with it being a video card/driver issue. I setup the video transfer hardrware and software on a bigger better computer and it works the way its supposed to. The original computer, although XP was an older machine. Probably an insufficient video card and driver.
