Hi bluesman
We will help if we can, but I don’t really understand your problem.
A 2 minute 30 second video is rather small!
You say you are trying to burn a dvd,
So what do you mean by Splitting another scene at 2 minutes?????
I assume you started with a project and edited in the timeline.
What are your project settings.
Did you then Share Create a video file.
Did this file play ok using windows Media Player
Then Share create disc using the file made above.
Give more information.
Help us to help you.

Hi Trevor,
thanks for ur help. Actually, am making a small video presentation and I gathered short clips and put in the itmeline with voice track. I export the movie to mpeg & avi it works perfectly with full length 2 minutes & 30 seconds, but when i create dvd video disc it play until 2 minutes only. i didn't use menus or chapters for dvd, i want to have a dvd version for dvd player but still i can't fix this problem, am using Pal because am living in Jordan. by the way, can the dvd player play mpeg easily without any problems, in this case i will not burn dvd. waiting ur reply.
thanks again

Hi
First of all a dvd player will NOT play raw data mpeg files, you have to burn as a dvd.(Create Disc)
Read the top posting regarding the ‘recommended procedure’ and the tutorials.
What version of VS are you using?
What are your project settings?
Set them to the standard Pal-Dvd template
After editing go to share Create Video File.
Select ‘Same as project settings’
Save the file to your hard drive.
This process called ‘rendering’ it combines all your edited timeline into one file.
Does this file play in full on your pc using Media Player.?
If yes:-
Start a new project.
Change the project properties to match the Video File properties ( the Pal-Dvd template)
Share create disc
Add Video
Use the file made above.
When you press ‘Burn’ you should NOT get the message ‘this will take some time to render, do you want to continue………
I assume you are using a re-writable Dvd. If not you will be making a few coasters.
