How Do I Create a "News" style title?

Post by pastordavemaf »

I'd like to overlay the video with a "news" style title bar. A colored bar with a person's name on it which will span the lower part of the screen while that person is on camera. I thought that I could just create a transparent graphic and overlay the video, but that did not work.

Can you help??

Put whatever video you wish in the top track of the timeline then when you click on the 'Title' tab first on the left hand pane select 'Multiple Titles' Then 'Double Click' in the preview screen and then at the bottom of that left pane you can select 'Text Backdrop' - use the 'T' next to that selection box to choose a colour .

Type the details you want in the coloured bar - click outside the coloured bar (but within preview screen) then click back on the coloured bar and you will now be able to resize if you wish and move the coloured box (with text) to wherever you want it. - but not to far down or you will be in the overscan area and it will not show on a TV.

Click in the title track to transfer the title to your timeline - if you are likely to want that title again drag and drop from the timeline into the Title library and a copt will be saved there for future use.
