Hi All,
I am using VS9 and was planning to edit 2 seperate Holidays on to one dual layer DVD. However as i am nearing the end, it looks likely that the length will exceed the 2 hour limit.
As a result i have decided to put each Holiday on a seperate dvd. Is it possible to copy and paste the second half of the current project to a new project.
Thanks for any assistance.

Hi sparkash,
That is an excellent question, and bound to attract some ideas from the guys on this Forum..
The best I could come with so far is as follows..
Make sure that you can split your video into the two separate holidays in story-book mode. Copy and paste the second half into the clips library so that the clips are identifiable. Then delete the redundant clip thumbnails from the timeline leaving just the first holiday half.. Then round off the first half into a finished piece, save the project, then render to a video file... Or Burn your first DVD... Your choice.
Now open and name a new project.. drag the second half clips back into the timeline in the order you want them and do any final additions or edits, then render and burn as you did with the first piece.
Drawbacks..? Some features like filters and transitions may need to be re-applied to the second piece
Not the complete answer, I know... But someone will come up with a better idea, I'm sure.
Good Luck
George

Hi
Save your project as First Half, then save again as Second Half.
Now just delete the clips you don't need from each project.
Finish editing.
Share Create Video file for each project
You should be able to fit a 2hr video to one dvd, especially a dual layer.
Use a calculator to estimate the bit rate, using the settings in the create video file template.
