WARNING! HDV installer

Post by rdenny »

The HDV installer does far more damage than the MP4 installer. It erases ALL of your settings (as noted in a previous post). They are located in C:\Documents and Settings\your-name\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\9.0. This entire folder (9.0) is deleted! Major disaster in the making!

Do not install this unless you're prepared to reconsctuct everything you did since you first installed UVS9.

I'll post in a separate thread how to unwind the damage done by the MP4 installer if you have a backup of your drive.

OK, I'll do that... actually I'll send him links to the two threads I started (HDV and MP4). That way I won't have to type up two messages.

The HDV installer completely wipes out all of the saved state of your UVS9, including the templates, all video filters and transitions you have ever used, etc. The saved state is located in the folder C:\Documents and Settings\your-name\Application Data\ULead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio\9.0. This entire folder gets deleted by the HDV installer.

Rename the ...\9.0 folder to ...\9.0-SAVED before installing the HDV plugin

Then, after installing the HDV plugin, rename the 9.0-Saved folder back to 9.0. This will restore all of the saved state of your UVS9.
