UVS9 ROCKS (okay, some of them mean bumps)

Must say I'm thoroughly impressed with the new features and functions of VS9. I've owned every version since UVS5. I think it came with a video card I purchased. Although I own Media Studio Pro, I haven't used it yet. I always find myself going back to VS to complete the projects as quickly as possible. It's intuitive, robust and unbelievely inexpensive.

Some cool things in VS9:

I love the new fade in/out in the overlay video track. You could always fade in and out, but it was never possible to control the duration the fade. (In VS9 I ended up splitting into 3 clips... one just to fade in, one for the non-fading middle, and one just to fade out). The mask and chroma overlay features provide a host of additional functions as well. I like the new transitions too.

If you search on my name, you'll find I've had some issues (putting it lightly) with stability of the application. I waited for it to be out until after the first patch before installing. Even so, I had continued crashing and found the system unusable until I spent about 30 hours installing/deinstalling, reconfiguring, etc. It's still quirky. Hopefully there's something they find with a memory leak that can be repaired, as I've had to reduced the capabilities of my system to accomodate the new version (turning off harward graphics acceleration, disabling drive DMA, etc.).
