Is it possible to capture streaming video from the internet, if so how?

Sure you can. Camstudio is a free program that captures screen activity in AVI format so it can be easily imported into VS. By enabling your soundcard's mixer to record from speakers in the audio properties, you can capture the desktop video's audio too. Look for (WAVE OUT MIX, MIXED OUTPUT, STEREO MIX) all depends on the soundcard. Other uses are capturing powerpoint presentations, doing voiceovers and making video tutorials just to name a few.
