Assuming that Alludo will continue with PSP & VS, lets hope that they don't expect us to remain loyal to them as they have shown absolutely no loyalty or respect for their customers, who surely will no longer purchase their products
A big thank you to Ken,Trevor and Kathy for setting up a new forum to provide continued support.

Re: Closure of User to User Forums
This really isn't au revoir for VS, it's hard to see that its anything but adieu.
For those who have posted about upgrading to Vegas pro 21 in light of this announcement, a PC Mag review on YT indicated:
a. that the UI was much like Resolve, v complicated altho a lot work seemed to have been done to make it easier to use in the latest version. (I tried their trial once and was really put off but the complicated UI resolve has)
b. It was less expensive than it used to be, with both subscription and perpetual licenses available
c. that for ease of use, Video Studio and Power Director were still the best available.
In light of c. - v publicly available on YT - its even harder to understand the reasons for the decision to close the user groups. That really says the product is doomed, because we all know just how bad their company support is. Unresponsive/non existent from the various posts here would describe it pretty well. Any new user trying that will be after a refund quick smart.
Moving on from that, since it's a done deal, and before this channel closes, does anyone have anything to say about the ease of use for Vegas 21? see a. above

Re: Closure of User to User Forums
Hi Robert,
I edit educational and commercial videos using Videostudio, Vegas Pro, and Resolve. Each have their strengths but Vegas Pro is the one I default to when it is necessary to get the job done and "in the can" reliably and when I don't have time to fight the interface, which I always seem to be doing with Resolve. I only use Resolve when I have a project needing extensive colour grading but Vegas has decent grading tools as well. I use Videostudio for video slideshows involving a mix of photos and video clips. I also had a request to provide a Japanese school with a multicam presentation given by their students and this had to be provided on DVD. I received accolades from this school for the presentation and this project was best done with Videostudio. Going forward, I think Vegas Pro would be the best choice to get a program that is easy to use and can grow with you. Sadly, I can't see a future with Alludon't.

Only few weeks ago VP19 was on HB for $25 that's far less then a dinner. I switched when I got an offer from VP for $60.Davidk wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2024 11:35 pm This really isn't au revoir for VS, it's hard to see that its anything but adieu.

Yes it's a bit more complex, why ? because it's more towards the advanced user and not the casual one (hence not much pre made stuff). It can take a while but any one with video editing experience can ez get by with tones of tutorials and very active user forums that the development team perticipate.
All the light and mid NLE's will come with gazillion ready made stuff and far less options.
** Short anecdote, more then 30 years ago I was sent abroad (UK) to be train on a special NLE that cost ~$200,000. During training I asked is there any built in or a floppy with pre made FX's, I can use/study. The answer was NO, you have to design all yourself. that was a $200K system that could store 150seconds of SD video on HDD !

I have no idea about it, just from reddit.

Hi,
I think that version 19 of Vegas Pro is one of the best releases. Very stable and supports an enormous amount of camera formats.

Re: Closure of User to User Forums
I'd like to publicly give thanks to Ken Berry, Ron P., and Steve for the years they've spent of their free-time to moderate these fantastic boards. Thank you all so much!!! I'm really disappointed that these forums are going away.
I too got disillusioned with the lack of meaningful updates over the years after Corel bought out Ulead (Ibegain my journey with VideoStudio 4 SE). At first it seemed hopeful, and initial updates were decent. But anyways, I've made the very difficult decision to go to Vegas Pro 21 (the features immediately available to me now are worth many years of VS updates).
Anyways, again, thank you to the moderators and all the other fantastic users here who shared their questions and solutions....and pains.....of being a dedicated VideoStudio user.
God bless,
Ron

Re: Closure of User to User Forums
Adi,
Thanks for the tip. At that price, a steal, 12 items in the bundle even tho I'll probably never use more than 2. At first glance after install, UI is quite different. Yet another learning experience.
Sad to see these pages go, they've been an immense help to me - both personally and when I was tutoring the program. Thanks to the admins and contributors, all.

Re: Closure of User to User Forums
Vdanny,
Out of curiosity which version of Vegas Pro 19 did you go with?
In the past I've needed video stabilisation so I went with VS ultimate, Mercalli was a godsend.

Re: Closure of User to User Forums
I would suggest that you go with Vegas 21 Suite. It's presently $299US, which sounds like a lot, but the return of investment is well worth the price. You'll get:
Vegas Pro
SOUND FORGE Audio Studio
ACID Music Studio
Mocha VEGAS
Boris FX Primatte Studio
Mocha Vegas will give you access to a version of Boris Fx's Mocha (much like Mocha for After Effects) - a studio quality motion tracking
Boris FX Primatte Studio - also studio quality, green screen capabilities.
Again, the initial investment sounds like a lot, but the capabilities you'll have access to right now will more be worth more than the next 5 years of VideoStudio "upgrades". Plus when Black Friday sales come around, you can buy a Borix FX Continuum license which will give you full access to a whole new set of amazing features. But be sure to wait for Black Friday sales on that one! Here are some of the features you'd get: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/u ... continuum/
I'll be honest with you, the learning curve may seem steep, but give it a little time (find some YouTube videos) and you'll be catching on in no time.
Ron (a 20+ year faithful, and disappointed, user of VideoStudio)

Thanks, Adi! Price right now for version 19 is $20 USD. Just might have to spring for it.
