Closure of User to User Forums
In case you have not already seen it, there is an announcement at the top of this and other forums that Alludo has decided to close these forums down from 12 February. People with problems with the software will be redirected to Support.

Re: Closure of User to User Forums
They did the same thing to the Roxio forums a couple of months ago. I wonder how much longer Corel/Roxio Pinnacle wiil exist.
The years on this forum have been helpful and informative to many users myself included. I will certainly not update my Alludo software anymore.
Good luck to everyone.

Re: Closure of User to User Forums
I thought the Alludo takeover was leading to Videostudio and Pinnacle Studio essentially becoming abandonware. The closure of these forums furthers that conclusion. I will no longer upgrade either program. I would like to thank all for the assistance and insights gleaned on this forum.

Re: Closure of User to User Forums
So far we've heard that a similar announcement has been made not only in this and the PSP forum, but also in the Painter forum. Haven't yet heard what is happening with other Corel products like Pinnacle Studio or CorelDRAW...
But as far as VideoStudio help, there is also a fairly active Help group on Facebook, and people might want to consider moving there if they have problems and don't believe Alludo Support will be able to handle the stress of dealing with the number and type of problems posed on our own forums. The Facebook Group is called the Corel Video Studio Help Group, and the IP address I use is https://www.facebook.com/groups/275989919486723 though I am not sure if that will only work if you already have a Facebook account. Trevor/lata and I have already become humble members there, and will try to offer our help where we can.

Re: Closure of User to User Forums
Those of us who recently moved to Vegas Pro 21, seem to have made the right choice, if it is Alludos intention to maintain VS, then closing the forum is ludicrous, OK, so they may save some dollars, but with the extra staff they are going to need to service all the issues that are currently resolved on the forum, and the loss of sales, which will be inevitable, is it really going to be financially productive for them.
After nearly 12 years on the forum, I am going to miss my daily forum fix, goodby and best wishes to you all
Robert

Re: Closure of User to User Forums
This is a shame.
I've actually enjoyed popping in to laugh at all the reasons why CVS sucks and crashes. Yes, I know, I know, I've bought many versions and would continue to do so but, closing such forums smacks of pound pinching and I'm sure that future versions of CVS will really, really crash. A lot. Shame. Come on Alludo, sort this out asap and keep the forums!
Let's try Vegas Pro 21. Thank you to everyone here that has offered advice over the years.

Re: Closure of User to User Forums
Unfortunately, it looks like the Alludo purchase continues to have predictable effects as they seek to recoup their investment. The lack of bug fixes and now the closure of this forum is a result. It’s unlikely that Alludo will increase VideoStudio Support, so the future of getting support seems grim. In any event, many users have had little joy going through VideoStudio Support.Ken Berry wrote: Alludo has decided to close these forums down from 12 February. Shutting down the forum will remove a valuable resource for VideoStudio users. Hopefully, the Wayback Machine will continue to allow this forum to be available as an archival resource.
Anyway, thank you to all who provided useful advice over the years, and to the forum administrators who made this work.

Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: Forum Retirement
This forum has been most useful over the 10-12 years I have been using it. The company is making a big mistake in closing it down and will lose future upgrade customers.

Re: Closure of User to User Forums
Even the WordPerfect forum has got the closure notice. I have opened the CorelDRAW community forum but can't find a similar announcement there. Then again, DRAW is a major product and money earner, so it might be spared for a while.

Re: Closure of User to User Forums
Does the wayback machine automatically save copies of forum pages like these? I've just taken a quick peep for certain topics and many are not yet archived because they are still available on the web.
Many thanks to Trevor, Ken, RobertOZ and others who helped with my historical issues with Newblue conflicts with this software.
