what happened to Preset Shapes?

Post by confundido »

I found an older posting about this but haven't figured things out yet. There used to be a lot of preset shapes but now since I upgraded to Paintshop Pro 2023 I only see 10 shapes.

What am I missing?

Thanks.

I don't see any option to "get more" on my Welcome screen, just some expensive add-ons. This is PSP 2023.

Go to the store on the Welcome Screen and filter by "free".
PSPX9 | PSP2020 | PSP2021| PSP2022 | PSP2023 & PhotoMirage installed; PSPX | PSPX2 thru PSP2019 owned but not installed

I tried that. They only show four options for free: "Incentive Pack 2023", "Purple Color", "Creative Brush", and "Script Guide". I installed the Incentive pack . No new preset shapes.

I wish I could post screen shots here but I don't see an obvious way to do that. Thanks for your help.

Click on Full Editor & Preview and then Attachments at the bottom of the box where you type. This is where you can add images/screenshots.

Did you install the Corel Creative Collection exe that came with your setup files?

Also, see if this post helps you. https://forum.corel.com/viewtopic.php?t=62261

I found the old installer, just the main program apparently, didn't see any other stuff. If I try to run it, it just says "already installed, press OK to quit".

The old version worked great but it couldn't get it when moving to this new computer.

It not terribly important at this point, I finished the task without Preset Shapes. Still bugs me that I lost functionality when installing the "upgrade".

Thanks,

Shucks, that looked really good. I downloaded it and went to install but the installer starts out with "you must install PSP9 before proceeding."

That's what I had before I was forced to upgrade. Sigh.

That installer puts a temporary program in this directory c:\Users\YOURUserName\AppData\Local\Temp\Creative Content\ . It's called package.msi. And there are programs that can open and grab the files from a Microsoft Installer (MSI) package. Doing this let me access all of the files and install them manually through a simple drag and drop.

Ha. I started down the trial and caught the installer making a temp directory as you say (had to take a screenshot to snapshot the location) and saw the *.msi but then I wondered why I was spending time on this.

Thanks for all your help. But Corel should just have included this stuff. I shouldn't have to go find special programs to unpack msi packages. And like I said earlier in this thread I just used a rectangle with rounded corners. Close enough.

Jeesh, you know what? I should have used MSPaint for the shapes cuz they have way more shapes than PSP at this point. I just wanted the little chat balloon thingy.
