Filtres dans psp2023

Post by sersylmor »

Bonjour

What error do you get when you try to install X9? While not designed for Windows 11 it should still work just fine for the most part.

As for the plugins, PSP 2023 doesn't have a 32-bit version. It's 64-bit only. This means that any plugin that doesn't have a 64-bit version won't work directly with newer versions of PSP from 2023 onward. Definitely look and see if there are updated versions of your plugins first.

There are bridge plugins that will run your old plugins in a separate program like this one from mediachance - https://www.mediachance.com/pluginbridge/ but they cost extra.

With the latest version of Windows 11, I am forced to install PSP2023 because X9 is no longer compatible and cannot be installed.
I can't put the filters like in X9 by choosing preferences, file location.
I have a whole filter folder in Documents\Corel\23, but then I don't see them as plug-ins.
Thank you in advance for advice on this method of use.

I suspect your missing plug-ins are 32-bit and PSP2023 is 64 bit only. PSP2022 was the last version where Alludo/Corel provided both a 32-bit and 64-bit version.

Some users have recommended a plug-in bridge https://www.mediachance.com/pluginbridge/ but I have no experience with it.

Thank you for the information.
PSP x9 when installed on a PC purchased with the latest version of W11 displays a message concerning an IPP DLL file.
An IT professional tried to install it, without success.
On the other hand, PSP X9 is installed if you upgrade a non-compatible PC using RUFUS software which allows you to bypass the Microsoft security chip.
For the moment I'm trying to understand how Pluginbridge works for 32-bit filters, because I can't find any filters in the 64-bit version.

Another option is the free GMIC plug-in which has a number of good filters. Make sure to select the 64-bit version.

https://github.com/0xC0000054/gmic-8bf/releases

And if you have PSP2022 or prior you can use the 32-bit version for your older plug-ins. It is possible to have multiple versions of PSP installed.

To give you an idea of what is compatible, here are the plug-ins I have installed on PSP2023.

Une autre option est le plug-in gratuit GMIC qui possède un certain nombre de bons filtres. Assurez-vous de sélectionner la version 64 bits.

https://github.com/0xC0000054/gmic-8bf/releases

For the moment I'm trying to understand how Pluginbridge works for 32-bit filters, because I can't find any filters in the 64-bit version.
Depending upon what filters you need there are quite a few 64 bit plugins, free and retail that work in PSP 2023 64 bit.

I also use the Plugin Bridge for the 32 bit filters and it works very well with some filters and plugins e.g. all the FF filters imported inside Filters Unlimited Plugin works, the old installed 32 bit versions of EC, Xenofex, AV, Redfield, VP, Name Suppressed, Mehdi etc. It does have problems with FM filters and I've found most don't work. For them I copy my work over to PSPX and apply the FM filter there.

You can install and fully test the bridge as a trial. It applies a watermark to the filter result. That's what I did to make sure it worked before purchasing.

I found it is best not to let it search your folders for filters if you have a large collection as for many they add the filters one by one so I ended up with 1000,s of added Sapphire filters which I don't use and so far I can only remove 1 at a time.
Instead add the filters as you need them to keep the list smaller.

The Bridge Plugin interface opens and you choose your filter from the list and click on Run. The plugin will open e.g. Filters Unlimited Plugin, and you chose your FF filter and apply or e.g. EC opens and you choose the effect and apply and then the Bridge closes and the effect is applied to your image.

If I understand you correctly, that is correct. Because the 32 bit filter is being run by the Bridge Plugin, it will appear in the Bridge filter list and will not appear in the normal Plugin list, unless it is a 64 bit Plugin. Only 64 bit Plugins will appear in the Plugins list in PSP 2023.
To use the 32 bit filter you open Mediachance Bridge Plugin, find your 32 bit plugin, click on Run and then the 32 filter will open [if it works in the bridge plugin.]
