VS2023 Launch Fail Issue - Temporary solution

Hello All,
Recently we found a few users are reporting their VS2023 version cannot launch correctly. According to our research result, we wonder if it may be caused by the NewBlue plugin compatibility. To the user who encountered this problem but cannot resolve it after reinstalling VS2023 many times. Here I would like to offer two temporary solutions for reference.

#1. Uninstall VS2023 and reinstall VS2023. Please note that choose the "Custom Option" page and only install "Main program". (It means you have to uncheck "Standard Content" and "Bonus Feature" options).
#2. For the user who doesn't want to reinstall VS2023, please try to visit these two folders and delete all "NewBlue" prefix files under the folder.

{install path}\Corel VideoStudio 2023\vft_plug
{install path}\Corel VideoStudio 2023\Vfx_plug

PS: You can also delete "NewBluexxxxx.vft" or "NewBluexxxx.vfx" files one by one to know which NewBlue effect causes this launch problem as well.

I hope this temporary solution can help you launch your VS2023 correctly.

I read with interest this temporary solution. I have been having launch problems over the past few days. Not sure when it commenced, but was certainly launching ok prior to Christmas.

I have deleted (using cleanup) and re-installed numerous times to no avail. Then tried the custom installation, but that too failed.
Interestingly, I am also having the same issue with VS2020.
I currently have no working VS version.

Rather than use that docx version of your screenshot, I have extracted the image and posted it above to make it easier for others to see the image.

That being said, I am not sure what you were trying to show by posting that screenshot. It seems to me to show a valid installation of VS 2023. What happens when you click on the vstudio showing in the list or on the desktop Corel VideoStudio icon? Does anything open or do you get any sort of error message?

When you say you have tried to custom install, did you try both custom suggestions made by Joseph Lin above, or only one? If so, which one?

Yes, I was showing what I thought to be a valid installation of VS 2023
When clicking on the desktop icon or list, processing indicator appears momentarily then disappears. Nothing opens and no messages.
I used Joseph's #1 option.

As you have the same issue with VS2020, have you deleted the New Blue folders Joseph has indicated above, also, go to Program & Features search for New Blue Titler Pro for Corel and delete if showing, then go to Program Files New Blue, and delete any reference to New Blue Titler Pro 5, then reinstall VS2023, initially, Main Program only, then try to launch

You can Un-install New Blue filters from this folder,
C:\Program Files\NewBlueFX\uninstallers
Double click the files similar to this one--"uninstall Effects for VideoStudio Pro 2023.exe"
Having uninstall all you can delete the NewBlueFX folder.

There is also a NB Application Manager via Start Menu-- that seemed to affect Rob on this post

Unfortunately I cannot test the above as I do not have a problem in launching the programs so don’t know which NewBlue filters are affecting the launch, nor why it happens, I believe Corel may be in the same boat.

Have now deleted NewBlueFX folder as per provided instructions.
Result:
1. VS2020 now OK
2. VS2023 still does not work. Same as previously advised. Click on icon, processing icon appears briefly but nothing opens.
Looks like I have to put this down as a very disappointing experience, and just use VS2020. Shame about my work in VS2023 whilst it was briefly working.
VS2023 was installed just prior to Christmas as WAS working then.

The temporary fix worked for my VideoStudio Ultimate 2023 under Windows 11.
It's a shame that it was distreibuted like this.
Now many featiures will be lost.

Yeah... you buy the Ultimate version and might not be able to use the plugins that come with it. One of the reasons for buying it.
Oh well...
