Open a file, edit it, hit save. In every other program this would save back over the original file. In PaintShop Pro it now saves to the last Save-As folder (as far as I can tell). This is bad, very bad. I keep editing files and then finding my file hasn't changed, and then having no idea where the edited image went.
It didn't used to work this way.
Similar when using Save-As: it should default to the original file, NOT go to a different folder as it does now.
PSP has Save-Copy-As for the purpose of saving a copy to another folder. Save and Save-As should ALWAYS default to the current file location.
Also, Save-As can default to a different file format than the original file. Again, that's what Save-Copy-As is for. Save and Save-As should default to the original file.
Sometimes Save-As is giving me an empty "File name" field too for some reason. It should always default to the original file name.
I'm using PSP 2023, 25.2.0.58 x64. It tells me there are no updates. An update to PSP 2023 really needs to be pushed to fix this.

Re: Major bug: save goes to wrong folder
Thanks, looks like at least two other threads about this issue. Seems lots of people are complaining. It's a pretty embarrassing bug to get through, and even worse that they haven't put out a hotfix for it after months.JoeB wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 2:06 am You might want to read this post from a few days ago.
