VideoStudio crashes while loading 4k mp4 file

I am trying to edit a 4k mp4 file in VideoStudio 2022 however as soon as I put the file on the timeline, the programme immediately closes.

The file is 3840x2160 / 25 fps / approx 18000 kbps. The file is shorter than 50 seconds.

By default, can VideoStudio 2022 not handle such high resolution and high bit rate?

Or is something going wrong that really shouldn't go wrong?

VS2022 has no issue with 3840x2160 25fps, not sure about the 18000 kbps though, would need to find 4K 18000kbps mp4 files to test

Well, VS2022 has an issue in my case. A second file same properties but with a bitrate of 10000 kbps closes the program as soon as I put it on the timeline. I have not a very fast computer however I do not expect that my computer is the cause of Corel VideoStudio 2022 not able handling 4k files at all.

I downscaled this video from 4k to HD . The HD file is accepted by VideoStudio 2022 however as soon as I try to edit this file at the timeline after a few seconds VideoStudio crashes. I had this several times also with another downscaled video.

Downloaded the file from Vimeo. Had no problem loading into VS 2022 and doing edits.

This is of course a different file from the file you are having problems with in your initial post. The Vimeo file is over 4 minutes while you state your problem file is 50 seconds.
This creates confusion.

I used some parts from this video which I splitted with SolveigMM Videosplitter.

Perhaps this changes the video in such a way that VideoStudio can no longer handle it

if I'm correct, your video file is 10-bit

VS2023 and previous versions only support 8-bit

check your file using mediainfo
