Can you go to Preferences (F6) – Performance tab.
Deselect all acceleration options
Then start a new project to add your MTS video.
Any improvement?

Thanks for providing those samples. Unaccountably, I too get that strange pink screen when playing your clips in Project mode, though they play properly in Clip mode. I have resurrected my VS 2021 since that is what you are using. Hopefully lata (Trevor) will have his own comments when he plays with your samples. But my simple solution was simply to convert your MTS to mp4 using the (freeware) Handbrake video converter. I set exactly the same properties as yours, and the conversion only took about a minute. And the new mp4 plays perfectly in both Clip and Project modes and in excellent quality. So that works in VS 2021.

I also, of course, tried your clips in VS 2023 on the same computer, and they played perfectly well in both Clip and Project mode. So obviously enough there is some problem associated with VS 2021... I don't have NewBlue plug-ins associated with either program, though I now have the stand-alone version of NewBlue Titler 7 on tthis computer... But again, that hardly explains why I get the pink in VS 2021 and not in VS 2023...

I never had this problem initially in the Corel Video Studio Ultimate 2023 version.

The video files work fine in Magix Movie Edit Pro!

For what it's worth -- not much! -- they also play perfectly well in VS 2022 in both Clip and Project modes. So it seems to be only VS 2021 which causes the problem... Let's wait to see what Trevor has to say...

I do not have any problems in playing those samples using 2021, nor 2023
The only odd thing is they have different properties
The 00002.mts is using 50 fps and progressive whereas the 00002(1).MTS is recorded in 25fps (50i) Upper field First
and obviously a different frame rate. That mix should not cause the green look.

even so I do not have any problems playing these.
I have set the project properties to use both settings and still all plays ok.

Can I ask what are your project settings.

Earlier I mentioned K-Lite, did you install that pack?

Just to add that the 50fps version also uses Digital Dolby surround Sound 5.1 where as the 25fps uses stereo.
Video Studio 2021 only supports Sterio, I have to say I have never had any issues using 5.1 video, the program just sees it as stereo. Need MediaInfo to check, or an earlier version of VS.

I double checked using X10, needless to say no problems playing the clips

So much concentrating on the visual that I did not listen to the audio.
I do not hear any audio when playing either of these clips using 2021.
Confused, I only have the basic program of 2021 installed, Ill finish installing to see what I get then

I am struggling to hear any audio although the video shows ok.
I can render a clip with 2021 which plays ok using VLC with audio, just does not play through 2021.

Do you have any issues with audio?

Just to be clear, I had no trouble with the audio in Project or Clip mode in VS2021 -- just the pink color in Project mode. And no trouble with either audio or video in both VS2022 and 2023 in both Project or Clip mode.

Finally after a full uninstall, a registry clean and installing only the Main program I am now able to play the samples including audio.
I will complete the installation pack by pack, but so far all is playing ok.

I listen to both files.Try on video track and overlay track.
I have no problems listenning to audio or video in project or clip mode.
No pink screen.
I tried Video Studio Ultimate 2021 and 2018 and Video Studio Pro x8.

As Lata mentionned the 00002.mts uses Dolby Digital 5.1 .Yet Media Info shows 6 channels
I always thought that Dolby Digital 5.1 was no longer supported by Video Studio 2021.

As I said before it works in another video editor but version 2021 - it seams to work in version 2023.
