Corel Video Studio Ultimate 2021 - Freezes

Hi Everyone,

I've been using this version for a good long while now and its never given me any trouble up and till now.
I recently upgraded my Hardware in PC and there's nothing wrong with it there in that department. I recently got an "corel video studio unable to load library" Error and tried all fixes i.e clean install with the removal program tool and the problem went away. Now when the program opens up it freezes and does nothing - I'm at a loss on what this could be any help on this please?

Try deleting or renaming the reset folder (24.0) from here:-
C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64)
The folder may be hidden, if so type %appdata% in the search box to find the Roaming folder

I did all that, allas it didn't solve the problem.

I got in contact with Corel Support and they claim this:

Unfortunately, we have a bug with the Newblue filter. The case has been escalated to the concerned team and hopefully, there will be a fix in the next update.

And they tell me to re-install but with 2023 Version where the Key won't work with it!

When I try to re-install the program, I get this error (see attached)

Ok try this
Can you uninstall the New Blue filters.
Go here:-
C:\Program Files\NewBlueFX\uninstallers

Double click the “Uninstall Effects for VideoStudio Pro 2023.exe” file or any other with a similar name, see my attached image
That should remove New Blue

Installing VS --- Two options…….
First run the cleanup tool.
1 / Running the installer again this time deselect the Bonus Features, will not install New Blue
or
2 / Run the installer to install all packs. On completion do not run the program, just close VS

Go to C:\Program Files\NewBlueFX\uninstallers
You guest it, uninstall New Blue
Launch Video Studio.

Did everything as suggested when I attempt to open the program it just closes!

I missed out this folder, can you try deleting 24.0, dont know what else to suggest.

I've done yet another reinstall of the program - this time the program opened when I went to render a project that I've been working on the program closes.
Another re-install latter I get this error see attached.

Hi Rob
All I can suggest is to Install Video Studio without installing the Bonus Features pack.
See if the program runs OK.
Of course if you have used new blue or any of the Bonus filters/ plug inside in your project will affect the project.

Is there a way to determine if the plugins are installed and how to un-install them?

Also there may be an entry in Program and Features for NewBlue Titler Pro5, you can also uninstall that.

Not sure about the other Bonus Features, although the Cleanup tool should take care of those.
MyDVD I find a little difficult to remove as it may be shared with other VS versions, usually use Revo Hunter Mode to do that.

Nope still the same boat - done a clean install of Windows 10 and went to install Corel and I get the error message that I talked about on Thu Jan 11, 2024 12:25 pm

I'm wondering if updating to the 2023 Version will fix this? But I'm wondering when the 2024 Version will then come out?

You could try running the trial version for 30 days, before you spend any money.

As for 2021 did you try installing the Main program without the Contents or Bonus packs?

Gonna attempt one more install of 2021 before going over to 2023

Any ideas when 2024 will be released?

Have you reported this problem to Corel / Alludo Support

I do not know when 2024 will be released
