Do you want the initial Samples you posted to look like this already threaded Nut and Bolt? How can that be? There's no visual relationship to bring those two ideas into one?

If I understand correctly what you want to do, it is not possible with PaintShop Pro.
Try CorelDraw or AutoCAD:

The best PSP can do is erase part of the bolt layer. All images in PSP are just like flat pieces of paper. If you want to simulate 3D you need to learn to draw it use a program that can do 3D
