I have a animated video, white on black - I want to change it's colour to red (or blue maybe).
How do I go about making the nice white on black video appear to be in another color. I obvisouly want to use ths clip as an overlay to draw on top of the main track, but not in white. very confused as to how hard it can be to remember how to do that.
replace color

Re: replace color
okay so now I'm importing the B/W clip as a mask in VS and then adding that mask to a solid color image on the timeline - but the "mask browser" in VS is pretty terrible for this, because all of my masks... since they are videos in MOV format do not play in the previewer, so all of my "masks" are identical looking black squares in the mask picker. After I import all of them I just have load of black squares to pick from. Is there a conversion I need to do so that my masks preview nicely in the mask picker?

Zaph,
Sounds like VSP is not recognizing the alpha channel in your .mov mask files. You could convert your .mov files to PNG image sequence using ffmpeg.

Once you have your folder of numbered images, create an .uis/.uisx file in VSP and it will recognize it as an alpha video file to be used as an overlay. Invert alpha over your select color track. Should do the trick. Did something similar to this years ago with my Combination tutorial using COOL3D PS and MSP7 for a hologram beam.

Re: replace color
I've exported to PNg sequence before, agree, it can take time, but that looks like a good option at any rate.
This .uis or .uisx file.... This is under Share/Custom then choose "Ulead Image sequence", ok I'll try that when next I do this kind of thing, would have been great if Corel surfaced functionality a bit more easily.
