3D Title editor is just lagging out

The 2d title editor takes a decent while to edit, and then I'm probably just doing something wrong because any changes I make (I'm not adding keyframes it's still got "3D Text" in the view, but any edits I make do not change the preview until you close the 3D editor and then open it again. Something rather strange going on. Is there a tutorial on how to use the 3D title editor all I want is some static 3D text in a specific color.

OK - I found the probable cause. Even though I only had a 18 second clip, I had 8 video and a fair few audio layers and the render was failing to finish. Saved project, and Restarted VS and suddenly the 3D Editor is behaving much better.
I was helpful watching the tutorial again just to remind myself anyway. VS is normally very stable for short clips, thanks once again.
