DV-DVD conversion and Field order (A/B)

Post by andy_klosak »

I have imported a DV movie from Panasonic GS140 camera (PAL version) using DIVIO (small capture utility), and then open it in MediaPro7. After editing, I want to export it to a file (in DV format), and there is a choice of Field Order A/B (under [File] - [Create] - [Video file] - [Options] - [General]).

Which one should I use ?
From what I read all DV formats comming from camera are "B" type (lower fields first). So Should I also use "B" type when exporting from MediaStudio 7 ?

I want later to used TMPGEnc to process the file

regards

Although there are exceptions to the rule, normally you use lower field first for anything you have captured from a camcorder connected to your computer by way of a firewire.
