1) is there a way to edit the existing split screen templates that are coming with Video Studio (IP-01 thru IP=06). How can I open them into Split screen Editor
2) how can I remove the white rectangular box in split screen template IP-04
Thanks

Welcome to the forum irviner,
To remove the white box, highlight the place holder in Overlay 4, open the Options Panel and delete the bottom Split Graph Filter

Roberto
Thank you so much
2 more questions:
1) Is it possible to create split screen longer than 9 sec
2) is it possible to edit an existing split screen inside split screen creator in order to modify and resaved it as a new template

Re: Split screen
Look at the training video from Discovery Centre, it shows how to create your own split screen templates

Re: Split screen
Robert
thanks I watched the video several times in the past weeks and that is how I learned how to create split screens
My question was how to edit a template already created
For example I would like to modify the templates there are coming with Video Studio
Is there a way to reopen them in Split Screen Creator and edit them
I was only able to edit the motions of individual place holder but not the template itself
Thanks

Re: Split screen
Hi Irviner
Split Screen Templates 2 types both having the .vsmontage extension, both look the same.
One resides in the Templates Library – Split Screen, as your Image these templates and can only be used on the timelines and cannot be opened to re-edit using the Split Screen Template Creator.
The second type are created by the user, from Split Screen Template Creator choose OK to close the editor and return to the timelines. Do not use Export As Template
The VSmontage project file shows on the timelines and also within the Media Library, Note-- Media Library not the Templates library.
For all intents and purposes these look the same except double clicking the thumbnail opens the editor.
Ok
Your Templates – Split Screen03 etc
We should be able to locate the files by dragging a vsmontage to the timelines whilst holding the Shift key, will insert as a flattened clip, however for me the program freezes, this used to work in the past.
Task Manager to close VS, can I ask that you test this for me, if it does NOT freeze, right click the clip on the timeline for Locate on Computer.
Ok go to …..
C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\VSPTemplate\
This folder should contain your montages --SplitScreen03 etc
Back to VS media library – I would create a new Media library page call it My Split Screens
Drag and drop the VS Montage files to this new library page or Import the VSmontage03 file to the new Media library page.
Double clicking these thumbnails should open the editor.
As I say to close the editor use the OK option.
After hitting ok the montage will be saved here with a thumbnail in the Media library
C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\26.0\SplitScreen
Sorry if a little confusing to explain

SHIFT KEY IS NOT WORKING FOR ME. I CAN DRAG A SPLIT SCREEN INTO THE TIMELINE WITHOUT HOLDING THE SHIFT KEY.
Ok go to …..
C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\VSPTemplate\

CORRECT
Back to VS media library – I would create a new Media library page call it My Split Screens
DONE
Drag and drop the VS Montage files to this new library page or Import the VSmontage03 file to the new Media library page.
FROM INSIDE VIDEO STUDIO: DOESN'T ALLOW ME TO DRAG AND DROP TO THE NEW VIDEO LIBRARY I CRATED "MY SPLIT SCREEN"
IF I TRY TO IMPORT A PROJECT TEMPLATE THE SPLIT SCREEN FOLDER IS EMPTY BECAUSE I CAN ONLY IMPORT VPT EXTENSION
I HOPE THIS HELP

Re: Split screen
Hi
1 / You should be able to drag and drop the vsmontage files from Windows Explorer folder to VS Media Library. ( not dragging from Inside Video Studio)
2 / You should be able to drag and drop from windows explorer folder onto the timelines, then drag clip to media library
3 / when you drag from the library to the timeline, hold the mouse button to read the "tool tip" regarding Flatterning, then drop.

Hi
1 / You should be able to drag and drop the vsmontage files from Windows Explorer folder to VS Media Library. ( not dragging from Inside Video Studio)
IN WINDOW EXPLORER I WAS ONLY ABLE TO LOCATE ONLY THE VSMONTAGES I CREATED. NOT THE ONES COMING WITH VS (IP-01 THRU 1P-06) I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THESE FILES ARE LOCATED IN EXPLORER. I WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO OPEN THE IP MONTAGES.
I WAS ABLE TO DRAG MY MONTAGE FILE AS YOU TOLD ME ON THE TIMELINE (BUT I ONLY GET 1 PLACE OLDER WHICH IS UNUSABLE)
USUALLY A MONTAGE HAS 3 OR 4 PLACE HOLDERS. WHEN I DRAG FROM EXPLORER TO THE TIMELINE I ONLY GET ON PLACE OLDER
2 / You should be able to drag and drop from windows explorer folder onto the timelines, then drag clip to media library
I WAS SUCCESSFUL IN DRAGGING FROM EXPLORER TO TIMELINE. UNABLE TO DRAG THE CLIP FROM THE TIMELINE TO THE MEDIA LIBRARY. DOENS'T ALLOW ME
3 / when you drag from the library to the timeline, hold the mouse button to read the "tool tip" regarding Flatterning, then drop.
DID NOT GET TO THIS POINT YET BECAUSE I WAS UNSUCCEFUL WITH THE PREVIOUS STEP

Re: Split screen
Some confusion with library description
When I mentioned the Media Library I am referring to the top icon where the image and video samples are , that includes the Sample-lake.mp4.
If you use the split screen editor to create an effect, choose OK to close, the template will be placed in the Media Library
You created the MY SPLIT SCREEN folder in Templates, i asked you to create in the Media Library
Once you have the vsmontages in Media, a double click will open the editor
