Hi,
Win 10 Pro 64 latest update PSP 2016 all updates,
I have just opened PSP 2016 and added text but I see a few things..
the cursor has a little box attached to it.
When I try to add new text. The last text comes up in the box so I have to type over it.
I cannot rescale the text box. It just bounces back to it original size.
This all seems different than before.
Help please
Text tool now changed

1) If it's showing the previous text then you have "Remember Text" turned on. Depending on your version of PSP the icon will look like a T in front of a piece of paper, or a sunburst on top of a page of text. Here you can see it in this screenshot from my copy of PSP 2023.
2) Newer versions of PSP have an option to use either a selection or a vector object as a text box for auto-matic text wrapping. If you created text over one of these two areas the text will be bound to it and will jump back should you try to resize or move it.
If you see the text tool icon with brackets around the T like this [T] that means it's going to create bound text. And you need to hold the "Alt" key to stop it from doing that.

It'll only show up while editing text. It has a tool-tip text when you hover over the button that'll say "Remember Text"
If you still can't find it, another option is to use the old Text entry box. Hold SHIFT while left-clicking to create a new text object. A text box dialog will open, and at the bottom will be a checkbox for "Remember text". Enter new text, turn that checkbox off,and hit the "OK" button to accept the change. It'll now be off and will remain off until the next time it's activated.

Re: Text tool now changed
Thank you. The text box got rid of it.
I have become a little confused and disenchanted now with just simply wanting to add text to a new project. Used to be simple.
I think I need to reset the whole thing as either updates have changed the whole program style or somehow it has made changes itself.
What is the best way to start with a clean program other than to reinstall?
I use everything as a default except the scale option which I need.
Thank you for the help.
