In PSP v2020 I created/canvas enlarged a *.png image to a size of 3000 x 32000 pixel
Then I copied another *.png image (size approx 500 x 19000 pixel) from clipboard as a new selection into this base image mentioned above.
It works so far.
Now (the just inserted image is still selected) I want to move the inserted, selected image onto another place within the base png image.
As soon as I tried this an error popup appears telling me
"This image has a width or height that is too large".
Hmm, if I can create an image canvas of a bigger size and if I can insert a picture from clipboard of this size why is it impossible to move it around?
Is this a matter of too small internal memory assigned to PSP?
I have 16 GB RAM.
Or too small cache?
I have 1 TB SSD (which is 70% filled)
The error is reproducable
How can I allow move operation with png images/selections of this size?
Prevent error popup "This image has a width or height that is too large"?

Works fine in PSP 2022. First I created and saved both images as PNG.
Then copied smaller and pasted to bigger a few (4) times. Moving a pasted images works fine each time.

It uses about 1.3GB of RAM: https://postimg.cc/Ny6V5fzz
How is your setting in File > Preferences?
1. undo https://postimg.cc/9zgWWJTq
2. backup https://postimg.cc/ppK10d2X

Works without problem in my PSP 2020. Moved inside and partially outside.
I suggest you try a reset:

Re: Prevent error popup "This image has a width or height that is too large"?
Undo & backup values are set exactly as "Radim" suggested.
Reset of preferences does not help
Further investigations showed that moves work as long as the moves are inside or at most only a little beyond the base first image canvas.
When I move the inserted, selected image significantly out of the canvas of the underlying image then the error popup appears.
More precisely: If I move the inserted image so that the upper border is outside the upper window border of PSP or the lower border is outside of the lower window border of PSP. Or even outside screen?
For clarification I created a screen recording (see the following MP4 video):

or

Any other solution?
This could be a bug in PSP

Your video is nice. And I see the problem now.
The solution: don't do "Paste as selection". Do "Paste as new layer". You will be able to move the object on the layer outside the canvas.

Is there an email address for the paint shop pro software directly from Corel resp. even better from Corel developer technical team for bugs like this?
Or a bug ticket system?
