Set up for Data Add?

I have MovieFactory 4 Disc Creator.

After uninstalling and reinstalling several times after varying problems when I click on CD Drive Properties, Data-Add tab it says Data-Add is not active.

Enable UDT and Ask to finalize are ticked

On the recording tab "Enable CD recording" is not ticked.

No DVD will play on my PC and it tells me that the D drive is empty.
My DVD writer is a Samsung Writemaster. I have installed the patches and also the CD DVD driver updates.

Any thoughts on what I need to change my settings to and how I make Data-Add active?

(If I click on Control Panel, Add Remove Programs, it is listed as installed)

Data add will be displayed as active if a disc formatted by Ulead data-add is inserted.

I'm had converted a VR disc to DVD-Video using MF4DC and it is this disc (-R) that it won't recognise.
I can play the disc in my home DVD Player but my computer won't recognise the disc at all, not even to play it in WinDVD (which always play anything) or Media Player.
It just says the drive is empty.
