Hello,
I recently purchased a Plextor M402U which comes with VS8 SE. After installing the patches online I was successful in capturing and editing with videostudio 8 SE. However, upon rendering to DivX format the audio soundtrack suddenly started skipping. I have read in other reviews that rendering seems to be a dificulty for many people. Is there a way to correct this problem? If it cannot be corrected with VS8 can I use another Ulead program to make the DVD or video file?
Thanks
VS8 SE Audio out of sync after rendering

Out of Sync audio is a very common problem with VS8. Although I had never seen the problem on rendering any type of video file, only when burning a DVD. I did burn a couple of DivX format video files using VS8 without problems, but they were short tests that I was doing (2-4 minutes) and did not have any noticable audio problems. You will probably need to give more specifics about your PC to get help about the problem.
As for other Ulead products, I will have to let others chime in on that. I really only have experience with VS. But if you are going to stick with VS, I would highly recommend the upgrade to VS9, especially if you are going to be burning any DVDs.

Hi
As Tubadad said (Out of Sync audio is a very common problem with VS8.)
Search the forum for OOS
-------------------------------------------------------
After editing Share Create Video File.
Options – Un check Perform Smart Render
Use the video file to burn a dvd.
You could create a Dvd Folder (TS) to check the OOS
Give feed back if successful or not.
Trevor
PS installing the Trial VS 9 may over write the problem common shared files

I've experienced this problem alot with both VS7 & VS8, moreso with VS8. There's been tons of postings about this. The most common fix has been not to install their update. I spent a million hours trying to get this not to happen and some files work and some don't.
Sorry not to have a solution but here's a thought. I recently purchased Nero 6.6 (their latest) and found that a previously rendered project that the lips are out of sync, came out fine with Nero's movie creation program. I need to have a clean OS load to try VS9 (trial) to see if their latest version has fixed the problem. If you install their upgrade it puts system files into the same directory as the previous version so a clean load is a good way to see if VS9 handles the problem.

I haven't had any OOS problems since I installed the latest CD/DVD burning patch, the patch is for all Ulead products that burn to CD/DVD.
I was having problems with OOS with VS8/VS9 and MF3. The patch seems to have solved the OOS problem.

Thanks for all the replies!
I have just successfully created an MPEG from the edited project. I am happy that I can view something in real-time and without OOS.
Regarding the patch, can I update my VS8 SE with it or is it only for VS8 retail?
BTW, the reason I am stuck with VS8 SE is because this version is the only one that supports my analog-digital converter. It came with the unit. Would it be possible to open my VS8 SE files with VS9 and try DVD authoring that way?

You can open VS8 files in VS9, I have done that with most of my big projects. Infact I was able to take a project file from VS8 that was about 10 seconds off on the audio and create a new DVD with no audio problems at all. I am surprised that 8SE is all the driver will work with. I think it would be worth the download to get the VS9 trial and see if the driver doesn't work with it.
Good luck.
Good luck.
