I just went to put a color in the material palette, and all that comes up are shades of grey. How do I get it back to colors?

Shades of Grey Color Palette
Only a grey palette comes up when I try to change a color/gradient, etc.
I don't know how to change it so that the shades of grey palette palette again shows colors like it's supposed to.

Grey shows in 2 situations. 1) Your image is a grey scale image. If that's the case you need to increase the color depth as a grey scale image can only show greys.
Or
2) you have a mask layer selected. Mask layers are grey scale in nature so they cannot have colors.
