Video Studio cannot burn Blu-ray discs.

Post by Choi seong chul »

I selected the Blu-ray from Share and burned it to disc.
If you deselect the menu, select Add/Edit Chapter, and then add chapter,
VS quits without any message.
If you click OK and burn without selecting Add/Edit Chapters, the process will take a moment.
There are some problems with the conversion step. A message appears and the disc cannot be burned.
I am attaching the original properties and message, so please help. thank you

I have inserted some videos in the VS2023 timeline which are already Blu-Ray compatible AVCHD/mp4. I then followed your steps as you described them. But I got no error message (i.e. no 'Convert step got some problems') and VS continued without disappearing. I had also selected "Create Disc Image" on the final page of the Burn module instead of actually burning a disc. And that .iso file was created, again without any problem or crash.

I am therefore wondering if your problem relates to the "Convert step got some problems" message you received. You don't tell us what the properties are of the video you are using although the Korean screenshot you gave us suggests that it has 4K elements. So I am wondering if you have a 4K Blu-Ray burner. If you don't then VS may be having problems converting the 4K video into 2K Blu-Ray compatible video during what is already a complicated burning process.

In this situation, we would recommend that back in the Editing module of VS you do your editing and then first convert the project to either BD-compatible mpeg-2 or AVCHD. Then you open the Burn module and insert that new video into it and proceed to burn that to Blu-Ray avoiding the need for the Burn module to convert the video to BD compatibility.

Ken Berry. Thank you for answer.
The 4K Blu-Ray burner burns with current video properties so far.
However, after purchasing VS 2023, I tried burning 4K Blu-Ray for the first time. Now in VS2022
They cannot be baked the same way. The properties are:

Problem solved. The reason is that the first clip was rendered with a snapshot in it.
This seems to be the problem that occurred.
So, I placed a few seconds of the original video I shot in the first clip, rendered it, and then cut and rendered the original in the first clip because I didn't need it, and then successfully burned it.
But Auto Add Chapters doesn't work. You can only add chapters manually.

As far as I am aware, auto add chapter relies on change of scenes in a single video. That more often than not might be right for some people, but others might want something quite different. So I always relay on manually inserting them.

But I'm glad to hear you resolved your problem.
