Fade out problems

Post by luis1965 »

Hello there, I have owned video Corel for many years, and have posted here many times, but I had to create a new account because I had problems logging with my older account.

I am having problems with the fade out feature in the program. I try to make the fade out in my editing as smooth as possible, and I work very hard to accomplish this, but even when it looks smooth and perfect on the editing time line, they end abruptly when I render the project, it is very frustrating, and it happens in about 35 to 50% of the fade outs, it happens mostly when I render in 1080p or 2160p at 60p, also the higher the bit rates, the worst the problem manifests itself. I am rendering with MPG4 and I use 60p because there is a lot of side way movement and the video is rendered much smoother that way.

I've never had this problem before with the program, I have enabled and disabled the hardware encode acceleration, I have also tried NVidia Cuda, as well as AMD on and off when rendering, and I see no improvement.

I am wondering if anybody has had a similar problem, and could be able to help me with what may be causing this?

First off, can you tell me exactly what problem you had with your old username when trying to log-in here -- and for that matter, what was your 'old' name?

Could you also tell us exactly what you do to fade out your video. You gave us details of other aspects of your problem but not that central one. It will help to work out whether one of your steps in fading out might have contributed to the problem...

Thank you Ken for your quick response. I do not remember my log in name, I've had different versions of Video Corel for the last 15 years or more and there may be 3 or 4 possible options which I do not remember, it may have been luigy39.

On the fade out situation, I just cut the clip at the end to the desired length, and then apply the fade out motion effect.

I have tested this using the Sample_Lake.mp4 clip which came with VS. I applied the fadeout effect and rendered it to the same properties as the clip (1080p). That all went smoothly and the fadeout performed smoothly and as expected. I'm afraid, though, that I don't have VS 2021 which you show in your profile. I only have VS2022 and 2023, but the experiment worked properly in both.

I notice you have toggled hardware acceleration and CUDA/AMD on and off to no effect. But what about SmartRender. I happen to have had it on when I rendered my experiment. But sometimes people having trouble with their final render have switched it off, and their problem has resolved itself.
