How to copy video export profiles to the new version?

Post by ldor »

Hi,
I've just updated to the latest version of VS 2034 Ultimate. I have quite a few video export profiles in the version I used so far (2020). Is there a way to copy or import those profiles to the new version so that I do not have to recreate them one by one?

Are you referring to the VSD files (project files)? If so, here is my recommendation:
> Create a new folder and name it Archive VS2020 or something like that.
> COPY all of your VS2020 created VSD files into the new Archive folder.

Now you can open your current VSD files (not the archived files!) in VS2023. VS2023 will update the file automatically and it will be ready to use.

There is of course no VS2034, so I assume you mean VS2023... And gewb has given you a good answer, though there is another 'typo' there since the files are know as VSP (xxxx.vsp) not VSD.

When created they will appear by default in C:\Users\[YourName]\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\My Projects -- that should remain even when you have uninstalled VS2020, though there is no need to uninstall it at all unless you have pressure on your computer storage space. In other words there is probably no need to create the new folder suggested by gewb, though it certainly wouldn't hurt.

Ah yes, my bad...I know better, too! I'll blame it on not enough sleep after just finishing a 3,140 mile drive in five days.

Sorry for the typos. It is 2023 of course.
I am not speaking about the VSP files, that is easy. My question is about the export profiles. I've added a screenshot below to show what I mean. In this image, 720x480 is the name of a custom profile. I tried to search for the profile files, could find some stock profiles but not the custom ones that I created. So, I could not find where they are stored on the hard disk.

Hi
Not sure where those user profiles are saved, not on my pc to check.
However we can use Settings Movie Manager to create profiles.
Using the Add option will allow us to browse for a Video file to set the profile, the new profile being available via Share.

I assume you have used your profile 720x480 to render a video, use that video to set your new profile.
