No "recover last project" prompting

Post by zaphodikus »

So VS 2023 is doing it's normal crashing thing because it does not "like" the source clip, because it has unusual audio streams, really a disappointment to crash without adding any hints for customers just to remind me why. But the recovery dialog is not coming up either, has the "recover last" feature links to the autosave been removed?

It hasn't and it's still there. Not sure why yours isn't.

In my experience, the "recover last" feature doesn't appear after every crash. It appears to depend on the cause of the crash and when it occurs, i.e. in some circumstances VS crashes without a recovery being possible, and that is why I save the project after every significant change.

This, in terms of user experience feels like a regression. Whenever the game saves, it would clear/set the "dirty" flag in the app , if the file is "dirty" for any reason the app should ask for a recovery from the dirty cache surely?
